Come to the library this month for some family fun! The Friends of the Franklin County Public Libraries invite you - residents and visitors - to join us for exciting programs at both the Eastpoint and Carrabelle branches! From book discussions to crafts to tech support, there's something for everyone! These programs, events, presentations and performances offer opportunities for adults, children, and families to come together, explore their creativity, and enjoy time with others. All events are free and open to the public - no library card needed! Supplies are provided. Please note: both branches will be closing at 1 pm on Wednesday, August 26 for Staff Development.

Adult Crafternoon: Puffer Fish Painting - Thursday, Aug 20 at 2:30 PM - Carrabelle
Adults are invited to this hands-on craft workshop where participants can unleash their creativity and explore new artistic techniques. Space is limited to 12 participants, so pre-registration is strongly recommended to reserve a spot. The program is free, with all supplies provided. No experience is necessary—just a passion for creating.
Forestry Plant Identification for Beginners - Friday, Aug 21 from 4-5 pm - Eastpoint
Presented by the Florida Forest Service. Participants will learn about the region’s native forests and what depends on them with area forester Genevieve Sasnett. Guests will discover host plants, discuss plant survival tactics, identify plants to avoid, learn about common uses for trees, and leave with their own herbarium created from samples that they collect.

Hurricane Preparation event - Friday, September 4 at 2 pm - Carrabelle Branch
In conjunction with Franklin County Emergency Management. Residents can learn about hurricane and emergency preparedness, sign up for Alert Franklin notifications, special needs registry, transportation disadvantaged program, and information about local emergency resources. Franklin County Emergency Management staff will be available to answer questions and provide enrollment assistance.

Please note that both branches will be closed for Labor Day.
